About Pulpit Swap

Pulpit Swap connects pastors for a unique exchange: trade pulpits and homes, bless two congregations, and give your family an affordable adventure.

The Idea

Pastors have an opportunity most people don't: you can guest preach anywhere in the country and meaningfully serve a congregation you've never met. That's a gift worth using.

Pulpit Swap makes it easy to turn that gift into a mutual blessing. You swap homes with another pastor for a week. They preach at your church, you preach at theirs. Both congregations hear a fresh voice. Both families get a trip. Both pastors gain a colleague in ministry.

Why It Works

  • Two congregations are blessed — Fresh preaching brings new perspectives. Your people hear a different voice; their people hear yours.
  • Free accommodations — Skip the $1,000+ hotel bill. Stay in a real home with a kitchen, yard, and room for the family.
  • Pulpit covered — No scrambling to find a fill-in. Your congregation gets a prepared, experienced preacher.
  • Pets and home cared for — Someone's in your house collecting mail, watering plants, and looking after your animals.
  • Collegial bonds — Ministry can be isolating. Swapping builds real relationships with pastors who understand your world.

How We Started

Pulpit Swap came from a simple observation: pastors have this unique ability to serve anywhere, yet most never use it. What if we made it easy to connect pastors who want to trade? The platform grew from there—a place to find compatible matches, coordinate the details, and build a trusted community.

Our Community

Pulpit Swap is invitation-only. Every member is invited by an existing member, creating a trusted network of pastors who respect each other's homes, congregations, and calling. When you swap with someone, you know they were vouched for by someone in the community.

Support Us

Pulpit Swap is free to use and runs on donations. If this platform has helped you bless another congregation, take a family trip, or build a friendship with a fellow pastor, consider supporting us so we can keep it running.
